The 600 hour Advanced Medical Qigong Practitioner (AMQP) Certification is a continuation of the MQP training.

Designed to deepen the student’s understanding of foundational materials, it also introduces more advanced assessment and treatment skills.  

Training is specialized to address etiology and pathogenesis of specific diseases.

Completion of the MQP level is prerequisite.

  • Advanced Medical Qigong Practitioner (AMQP) | 600 hours

    The Advanced Qigong Practitioner training is divided into five progressive courses [40hr Each] that are scheduled over the course of the academic year (typically September — May).

    Each individual course has an online and in-person component. The five core curriculum courses are:

    • AP1 | Assessment & Protocols II

    • AP2 | Therapeutics: Qi Deviations & Dao Yin

    • AP3 | Advanced Survey of Disorders

    • AP4 | Approaches To Oncology I

    • AP5 | Clinical Theater & Evaluation

      Additional requirements for AMQP Certification:

    *MQP Certification is not required for acceptance into the program. However, sufficient MQP material must be completed to qualify for admission to the advanced training, and also requires the instructors permission. MQP certification must be competed to qualify for AMQP certification. If you have questions regarding completing these trainings concurrently, contact our offices.

  • A single cohort begins each academic year (typically September — May).

    Online courses generally begin two weeks prior to the first in-person weekend intensive. Continuing online classes and are scheduled on a consistent day and time between in-person weekends.

    Online attendance and in-class participation is required for those seeking CEU/PDAs from the NCCAOM.

    Certification requires attending ALL live in-person intensives in addition to successful completion of all other program requirements*

  • Designed for the practicing healthcare professional, our Medical Qigong Certification training is also available to those who aspire to practice the energetic healing arts—and are ready to take on that responsibility with earnest commitment.

    The 300 hour MQP certification training courses are considered prerequisite for this training.* Students entering the training without medical backgrounds or other healthcare licensure will likely need to take the additional adjunct courses listed in the “Program Overview” above. These can be taken concurrently with the AMQP core curriculum courses and are not required for admission into the program.

  • Online training sessions are 2 ½ hours in duration and follow a set once-a-week schedule for ease of planning. Students can attend from anywhere in the world with an internet connection. However, we do expect our students to treat the virtual classroom with the same respect as an in-person classroom. Online sessions are recorded (see Online Access above).

    In-person trainings are conducted as intensives and students should plan for an 8:00am — 6:00pm daily commitment (daily schedules may be fluid, and will include appropriate breaks, etc.).

    All in person training is held in Carbondale, Colorado USA.

Advanced Medical Qigong Practitioner (AMQP) Training Courses


The 600 hour AMQP program consists of five core curriculum courses, each comprised of online and in-person experiential learning.

  • 35hr. NCCAOM PDA / CEU

    The Advanced Practitioner level introduces specialized skill-sets that build upon the foundational components of the Medical Qigong Practitioner (MQP) training. Sensory, perceptual, and intuitive training is further explored and refined for the practitioner. Students explore methodologies ranging from enhanced technical proficiency to the introduction of long distance Qi emission and assessment skills.

  • 35hr. NCCAOM PDA / CEU

    This course delves deeper into the underlying principles of Medical Qigong therapeutics with advanced instruction in Postural, Respiratory, and Mental Dao Yin training processes. Exploration includes guidance in personal cultivation of the practitioner as well as skills applicable to clinical practice. Explicit instruction is provided in understanding Qi Deviations, including methodologies for assessment and correction.

  • 35hr. NCCAOM PDA / CEU

    This course covers disorders found in Pediatrics, Geriatrics, Gynecology, Neurology, and Psychology. Emphasis is placed on the specialized skill required to work with patients that are very young, as well as the elderly. Attention is given to the assessment and protocols for gynecological and reproductive issues. Special consideration is given to neurological disorders including coma, stroke, paralysis, Multiple Sclerosis, and Parkinson's disease. Working with individuals with psycho-emotional disorders, such as phobias and addictions, is also addressed.

  • 35hr. NCCAOM PDA / CEU

    This course investigates the etiology and pathology of cysts, tumors, and other recognized oncological disorders—approaching the understanding from the perspective of Traditional Chinese Medicine theory. Clinical considerations are outlined with special attention given to issues related to the formation of masses in the Brain, Breast, Uterus, Cervix, Ovaries, Prostate, Lungs, and Colon.

    An overview for understanding conventional treatment methodologies (radiation & chemotherapy) and the supportive complementary role of Qigong is explored.

  • The culmination of the Advanced Practitioner level, this course includes written and practical proficiency examinations, clinical theater, and supervised clinical components.

    You will receive direct feedback, working within the classroom and clinic, to achieve the skills and confidence necessary to successfully establish a clinical practice.
