Why Study Anatomy & Physiology?

Why Do I Need This?

Consider this: Someone comes to you for help with a Rotator Cuff injury (a common and likely scenario). What do you do?

A competent practitioner will determine both the severity and the precise location of injury—I.e., What is the specific muscle(s) involved? What is the nature of the injury?

Course Spoiler: The “Rotator Cuff” is actually a group of four separate muscles—all with distinct function / actions!

A Qigong exercise that benefits one of these four muscles may actually exacerbate the injury of another of the group!

This is why it’s necessary to know the body (and the intricacies of physiological processes) in order to effectively address the health and care of patients, clients, and students.

If you don’t understand the what and why of how things work—how could you expect to correct them when they go wrong?

Having this knowledge base is not only essential—it will make you a better practitioner and teacher.
